Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodiverse conditions in society. This course will introduce different perspectives to understand ADHD and analyze issues concerning this community. This course will present the characteristics of individuals with ADHD, use different theoretical frameworks to understand this type of human differences, and suggest implications for students' development and well-being (SDG#3 Good Health and Well-being).This course aims at developing heightened awareness and practical strategies that can support the learning and developmental needs of neurodivergent learners, and support students to effectively interact with peers with ADHD in campus (SDG#4 Quality Education). It also discusses how the interaction of neurobiological differences and the social environment and systems may differentially impact the functioning and well-being of individuals with ADHD, and how to advocate better supports for them in the community (SDG#10 Reduced Inequalities).
