Objectives: To achieve a general understanding of the nature of hearing loss and how it impacts d/hh students’ language and education achievement Learning outcomes: After attending the 1-credit course, students would: Understand the nature and the cause of hearing loss to appreciate the consequences brought about by hearing loss and how they impact D/HH individuals. (SDG #3: Good Health and Well-Being) Acquire some basic skills and strategies to interact with D/HH individuals, reducing inequality in information accessibility and education. (SDG #10: Reduced Inequalities). Foster positive values of respect, empathy, and inclusion among students. (SDG #10: Reduced Inequalities).
